David Bezanson, Ph.D.Dr. Bezanson is a retired clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist who worked at UCSF and an interdisciplinary clinic in Palo Alto. He volunteers on 4 environmental committees, including 3 in the Sierra Club, and the Security Committee of Physicians for Social Responsibility.
As if we didn't know from World War II, Chernobyl, Fukashima and North Korea, nuclear power and weapons are dangerous, but the really bad newes is they generate greenhouse gases.
Most countries have signed an agreement banning nuclear power and weapons. Nine possess nuclear weapons already (Korea has nukes, but so far no weapons. But it's only Wednesday). Only eight have not signed on.
Even if only one country makes a nuclear strike, the effects will last for at least ten years and two billion people will die from the exposure in the following ten years.
He said it’s up to each of us to support the elimination of nuclear power.

Bad boy Dennis Thomas finked on Peter Sortwell, who recently had taken an ultra, ultra luxurious trip to Italy. BUT, it turned out that PChris didn’t know about Peter’s trip.
Turns out Mark Avelar was his intended target.
Mark stood up and took it like a man. Peter, Mark and Dennis all joined the pres’s club. It is not known if they each knew they were in Italy, were in Italy at different times or simply avoided all contact.

Mike Berube’s phone went off, which cost him $50. Turns out Dennis Thomas phoned him during the talk. Double fink!

Bo Whitehill was fined (and joined President’s Club for a second time) for a pic of the Carmel Poodle Parade, in which his “grandchildren,” as he calls them, participate each year.

Dave Skromme was fined and joined Pres.club for stomping on grapes at Paul Rogerville’s winery.
Paul (left) was thanked profusely for his generosity by the prez and Dave and Dick Bennett. Paul said thanked all who attended and contributed, noting that an add’l $1800 in matching funds are available.

Bruce Bean was fined for holding a sign at a HIP board meeting and joined the President’s Club.
