San Mateo Rotarians take over Jim Chalmers Rotary Grove in Central Park to enjoy a host of delectable delights served up by our Club's phenomenal team of BBQ chefs!!!
Spinnings for Week of July 14th
Glorious sunshine, moderate temperatures, and hungry Rotarians welcomed President Dick as he officially kicked off his Rotary year at the Club's annual BBQ in Jim Chalmers Rotary Picnic Grove on International Chocolate Day. Not only did we enjoy wonderful BBQ treats, but we also were showered with chocolates galore!
The BBQ included an in-depth array of information about chocolate in honor of International Chocolate Day. We also enjoyed a visit from a Taiwanese Rotarian & his family who wanted to sample California's BBQ cuisine. The event concluded with a spirited contest to determine which Rotarian was decked out in the best red, white & blue garb.
The BBQ was a rousing success! President Dick launched his year as Club President with humor, grace, and chocolate! Can't ask for a better beginning than that!
Our BBQ Team showed great patience as they battled the smoke & flames to produce a delicious feast of kabobs, sausages
& hot dogs.
President Dick and President-Elect John vigorously debated the best condiment to add to sausages & hot dogs! Maybe they decided to try them all?
Carey, Dave, and Steve enjoy the gorgeous weather and each other's company. Looks as though all they need is some chocolate to go with the conver-sation!
A BBQ isn't complete without the canine set. Alan's Golden Lab is so chill, rather than trying to raid the BBQ table, he opted for a long nap!
President Dick welcomed a fellow Rotarian visiting from Taiwan who brought along Taiwanese dessert treats to share.
Cheryl continues to set the bar high by inviting guests to Rotary events. A warm welcome to Karen Routt, joining in our BBQ fun.
So special to see Bob Spence enjoying
the sunbeams and the BBQ! The smile says it all!
With thanks to Barb for serving as dessert purveyor extraord-
inaire! What's not to like about having dessert delivered with a smile?
Sue was proclaimed the winner of the red, white & blue contest, but chose to decline and confer the bottle of bubbly on Lisa who graciously accepted!
