Rotary Club of San Mateo
Spinnings
              Week of July 28, 2022
San Mateo Rotarians gathered on Thursday, July 21, at Poplar Creek for food, fun and fellowship.  President Dick bravely hosted the long-dormant game of Spoons, much to everyone's delight. Who was the culprit?  It was good we had the Police Chief in attendance to investigate! Our speaker was fellow Rotarian San Mateo Police Chief Ed Barberini who gave a fascinating glimpse into the police perspective on gun violence and captured everyone's rapt attention with his insightful commentary.
Chief Barberini Wows the Crowd!
San Mateo Rotary welcomed San Mateo Police Chief Ed Barberini to the podium.  Chief Barberini indicated he would prefer to be known as "Ed" at Rotary rather than "Chief."  Even though Ed still sports a red badge as part of his uniform, he has quickly become a terrific Rotarian and incredibly supportive of our club.  An enthusiastic Thank You to Ed for such a great presentation!
Have You Signed Up Yet?
The 2nd Annual Rotary Club of San Mateo Car Show is rapidly approaching. This will be a wonderful opportunity to display or view classic, custom or vintage cars. The venue has changed this year to CSM so it will be great fun to be at the top of the hill to enjoy both the cars and the view! The Car Show is an important supporter of our scholarship program - please sign up to be a sponsor, participant, or volunteer. We need your help to make this event a roaring Rotary success! Thanks!
