Join us on May 15th at the Peninsula Golf & Country Club for what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime event as we celebrate the Rotary Club of San Mateo's century of service to the community. We'll be joined by special guests Rotary International President Gordon R. McInally and Heather McInally.
All San Mateo Rotarians have early bird access to registration for the Centennial Dinner!  Be sure to register now because only 220 seats are available and they will be opened up to other Rotary clubs, District officials, local officials and dignitaries on February 20th! President John honors Peter Webb as February's Rotarian of the Month

President John acknowledged all Peter Webb does for the Rotary Club of San Mateo in so many realms by honoring Peter at the February 13th meeting. Peter is one of the masterminds behind the Fun Run, coordinates the Rotary Book Club, and started San Mateo Rotary Cares to reach out regularly to members who are unable to attend meetings. A Past President of the Club, Peter is also a Legacy Donor of the San Mateo Rotary Foundation. He is one of those rare individuals who sees a need and immediately does something about it! Congratulations to Peter for a well-deserved honor.

Stuart Little Comes to Rotary!

Jeff Hanson teamed up with Stuart Little for the February 13th Thought-of-the-Day.  Here's a condensed version:

"The greatest journeys in life are never known or comfortable. Their reward is not the destination...but how we encounter the unknown and uncomfortable along the way. They're opportunities to be the hero in our own story. To develop all the skills we want humans to have. Courage, commitment, adaptability, resilience, and more. And to be engaged on a deeper level while improving our physical and mental health."

Festive February Fun

With thanks to Rosemary Azem, Cheryl Angeles & Carey Gorgolinksi for creating such a festive atmosphere at the February 13th meeting. Valentines & Mardi Gras coincided this year so tables were festooned with valentine hearts as well as mardi gras masks and beads.  We even sang "Happy Birthday" to our February birthday celebrants! They got cake while the rest of us enjoyed bags filled with chocolates and assorted candies.  Sugar high, anyone?
