Community Grants, Dynamic Ticket Pricing, Happy Hearts!!!
Poplar Creek was abuzz with energy last Thursday as the Community Grants Committee presented $61,600 in grants to local non-profits focused on mental health services. Rotarians also enjoyed an informative presentation on dynamic ticket pricing from Russ Stanley of the SF Giants. Everyone (well, almost) donned red and/or pink in honor of Valentine's Day (don't forget your Valentine on Monday!).
California Clubhouse says, "Thanks!" for the
$20,000 to provide services to adults dealing with mental health challenges. San Mateo Rotary says "Thanks!" to Heather Cleary & Sheila Canzian for coordinating the community grants. A job well done!
Michelle Stulbarg of One Life Counseling accepts a grant for $20,000. One Life has recently grown from 7 to 90 therapists!
NAMI of San Mateo County receives a grant of $11,000. They will use the funds for middle and high school students who are at increased risk of attempting suicide.
Melissa Platte of Mental Health Assoc. of SM County says thanks for the $10,500 which will be used to assist in combatting depression, anxiety, and trauma.
Speaker Russ Stanley provided an informative and humorous look at dynamic ticket pricing for the SF Giants. Prices are determined by algorithms that monitor multiple data points and can change daily.
