Rotary Club of San Mateo and Scout Troop 42 Partner to Plant Trees at LEAD Elementary School
On a blustery Sunday afternoon, 8 Rotarians, 14 Scouts, Troop Leaders, significant others, parents, and grandkids all worked together to plant 6 Gold Medallion trees at LEAD Elementary School. They also weeded and spruced up many other planter boxes, finishing the entire project in record time.
Many thanks to everyone who participated and to all the San Mateo Rotarians who donated funds for the tree planting effort. A special shout out to Peter Sortwell who graciously donated the trees and shared his expertise and tree-planting wisdom! The Rotary Club of San Mateo hopes to continue to plant trees together with Troop 42 during the next school year in partnership with the San Mateo-Foster City School District.
