From BioTech to Super Bowl LVIII

The February 5th Club meeting was chock full of information ranging from Peter Webb's Newscast focused on the upcoming Super Bowl to Michelle Nemits' presentation on Biocom California. A few bits of info gleaned from both presentations:

  • 200 viewers will tune in to the Super Bowl which seems like a lot, but the World Cup Final garners over 1 billion viewers!
  • Favorite Super Bowl Snack? Chicken Wings! Cheese Nachos come in 2nd - all 80 million pounds of them!
  • San Mateo's very own' Tom Brady has the record for MVP - he's won the honor 5 times.
  • Did you know San Mateo is the global epicenter of BioTech?
  • It usually takes 10-15 years and $2.5 billion to bring a new therapeutic to patients.
  • Need a job? Right now Bay Area Bio Tech firms have 2,000 job openings.
