Northern Calif is a good place for independent small grocers...because of fully developed expensive land. Big box stores go to cheaper settings.
Bakeries are closed Wed and Sunday so the bread in the stores then is not freshest....
Grocers dislike the "15 item check-out" express line...the only time a business gives its' best service to the smallest customers.
Self Check-out has a dim future...because of easy theft.
The future....Electronic Price Tags...grocers can change a price with a push of a button.....like dynamic pricing of airline seats....
Where does lettuce go when its' getting old? The salad bar....
Visa won't let stores offer discount for cash.
