Scholarship Club Chair Jeff Lowenstein reports we've almost achieved our goal of raising $35,000 for this year's scholarships. But, we still have slightly over $1,000 to go.
Thanks to Liz Mehta, Lisa Taner & Anne Campbell for their auction donations at the March 20th Club Meeting, combining forces with Auctioneer Extraordinaire Chris Eckert to raise additional funds that moved the total to $34,000. We're, oh, so close!

District Governor Nominee Designee (that's a mouthful!) Tony Villanueva announced our very own Mike Peterson has received the 2025 Distinguished Citizen Award from the Pacific Skyline Boy Scout Council.
Mike has been recognized for his service to our community's youth, both professionally for his many years leading Serra High School, as well as for his service to youth through PAL, Rotary, and Boy Scouts.
He's even an Eagle Scout!
Mike will be honored at a gala event on May 8th at the Peninsula Golf & Country Club. Let's get a Rotary contingent there to clap loudly for Mike! Contact Tony Villanueva if you'd like to attend.

President Joan has the newest shipment of Little Libraries sitting in her garage, waiting to be primed.
A Paint Party is scheduled at President Joan's house on the morning of Saturday, April 5th, between 10 am & 1 pm. Mark your calendar & save the date.

paul saffo delivers sobering remarks about the future
Futurist Paul Saff0 provided San Mateo Rotarians with an expansive and sobering look at what the future may hold. He declared the descriptor for the future is Uncertainty and proceeded to offer thoughts on Technology, Climate Change, Artificial General Intelligence, Tesla, China/Taiwan, and Population Decline. He ended by discussing a term new to most Rotarians: the Network State, citing Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Curtis Yarvin as "the most dangerous people in the world." Want to know why?
