GO NINERS!!!

In honor of the 49ers competing for the NFC Championship against the Rams, President Rod offered up some NFC Trivia this past Thursday.   Do you know the answers?

     1.  Which team has played in the most NFC Championship Games?
     2.  Dick Vermeil led the LA Rams to their only Super Bowl victory.  What
team was his first head coaching gig?
     3.  Which player has played the most games for the San Diego Chargers?

Answers provided at the bottom of the page....
a warm welcome to Lilia...
President-Elect Dick Bennett presented a red badge to our newest member, Lilia Rustom. Prior to moving to the US, Lilia was part of Rotaract in Lebanon for 5 years.  Rotary runs in her family with both her father and grandfather having been active Rotarians!   Lilia works as an Interaction Designer for IDEO and lives in San Mateo with her husband, Jack.  Dick has done a great job as Lilia's sponsor - she's already joined the Membership Committee and has offered to help with the Website/Public Relations Committee.  Be sure to introduce yourself to Lilia as she joins our club.
inducted into the president's club!!!
As you can see from this photo, J. Anthony Villanueva, aka Past President Tony,  had great news to share at our January 27th meeting. Tony's son, Christian, graduated from Boston College School of Law in 2021, passed the California Bar Exam, and is now working as an Associate for Morrison Foerster in Palo Alto with a specialty in corporate law.  Because Tony is no longer on the hook for tuition payments, he proudly and graciously joined President Rod's President's Club in honor of Christian now paying his own bills!
a humorous thought-of-the-day...
Peter Webb had Poplar Creek rocking with laughter as he provided the following observations for the January 27th Thought-of-the Day:

The ability to speak several languages is an asset, but the ability to keep your mouth shut in any language is priceless.

Be decisive.  Right or wrong, make a decision.  The road is paved with flat squirrels who couldn't make a decision.

So, you drive across town to walk on a treadmill?
