At our December 5th weekly meeting, Don Leydig & Martin Harband provided a quick overview of how our Club helps fund Rotary's important International (and some local district) work.
They've expanded their presentation for inclusion in this week's Spinnings.
Did you know Every Rotarian, Every Year (EREY) donations make quite a journey?
Several weeks ago, Heather Cleary and Tony Villanueva received Paul Harris recognition for their EREY contributions. Their money, along with the $10,545 contributed by other generous members this year, is now on a journey.
Our Club's EREY donations have traveled to Chicago (home of Rotary International) where they will be put to work funding Rotary's efforts around the world. Then, in 3 years, 47% will journey back to our District 5150 as District Designated Funds (DDF) to support our Club's International (Guatemala Project) & District/Local (Tree Planting and Little Libraries) Grants.
How has our Club's EREY contributed to International projects?
Three years ago our Club, along with the Hillsdale High School and Middle College Interact/Effect Clubs, made sure $13,400 of EREY funds donated by our club members six years ago continued their journey. We sent it as part of our RI Global Grant to support microcredit loans for women in Guatemala. Follow the link below to learn more about this exciting project and its next chapter as our EREY funds journey to Guatemala.
