Bruce Bean reported the Fun Run is progressing well, but we need more runners and walkers.  Be sure to sign up!  Make the event even more successful by inviting your family & friends to join in the fun.
Our goal? 400 participants.  Right now? 50 registrants.   We need you!  Sign up here.
Last week's speaker, Father Peter Pabst, gave an inspirational introduction to Cristo Rey High School in San Jose.  Cristo Rey serves 478 students whose families struggle financially (median annual income of $54,000).  In addition to a strong college prep curriculum, Cristo Rey offers all students the opportunity to intern 5 times per month in a white collar job where they receive mentorship and job experience.  90% of Cristo Rey's graduates are the first in their families to attend college. Father Peter noted Cristo Rey is always looking for new job sites for student placement.  If you're interested in providing job opportunities, please contact him at Peter.pabst@cristoreysj.org.
We're delighted to welcome Arlene Richards Kace as our newest San Mateo Rotarian.  Thanks to Paul Rogerville for introducing her to our club and for serving as her sponsor. Her interests include Formula 1 Racing, aerobic dance, and dining out.  Arlene is a retired nurse who likes to keep busy, has already volunteered at our recent Car Show, and is eagerly anticipating the Fun Run!
