SPINNINGS          Week of June 26, 2025
 (aka "The Debunking!")

Rotary is Everywhere!

With thanks to Don Leydig's daughter who sent this picture from Nikko, Japan. Don shared the photo at our June 19th meeting and commented, "Makes one realize how powerful the words of the 4-Way Test are.  If we practice them, they will lead us to a higher level, no matter where we are in the world."

Do you remember the components of the Four Way Test?  In case you can't read the Japanese on the sign, here they are to help refresh your memory:

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build good will and better friendships?

Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Don't Miss the Debunking of President Joan!

Be sure you have this week's Rotary meeting on your calendar and plan to attend!  It's our opportunity to thank President Joan for an outstanding Rotary year.

Rumor has it that Past President Rod has been hard at work writing an adventure-packed script to be premiered by The Rotary Players.

President Joan won't want to miss this one!  Neither will you!

See you at Coyote Point on June 16th at high noon for what promises to be one of the highlights of the Rotary Year!

Who Might This Feathered Friend Be?

Here's President-Elect Skip at last year's debunking of Past President John.

Not sure if Soon-To-Be-President Skip will be wearing the same costume this year, but he's definitely ready to fledge and give those wings a try as he ventures out of the nest and into his term as Club President!

With Thanks!

Rich Orr provided the Thought of the Day at the June 19th meeting. He reflected on how much President Joan has accomplished this year and gratefully acknowledged her "dynamic leadership." Because President Joan has worked so hard on the Little Library Project, Rich gave a generous donation to the Rotary Foundation in support of the Little Library Fund!  Joan gave Rich a big hug in thanks for his donation to a cause close to her heart.  Her smile says it all!

Waiting in the Wings

Almost-President-Elect Nick explained to the Club why there won't be any more Mystery Nights. While some gasped in horror, Nick patiently explained that we'll be having other kinds of social events - ones where we know where we're going, what we'll be doing, and what we should wear! Who could ask for more?

Sleep Issues?

Dr. Hylton Molzof and Dr. Jamie Tingey from the Stanford Sleep Clinic provided an informative overview of sleep, best practices for better sleep, and ways to avoid sleep issues. Their power point presentation is worth reviewing because it contains lots of suggestions for how to sleep well and wake up ready-to-go to meet the new day.
