Today’s Speaker:
Sabine Zimmerhansl, COO of VimChat
Sabine is in charge of branding/marketing and is COO of Vimchat in Burlingame. Smartphones and a huge shift in communications globally. Younger people just want to “text” versus talking to somebody or leaving a message.
80% of communications now is texted. Businesses need to adapt to younger customers and the shift to texting as a direct line of communication with the business—customers just want to “get to it” and be done in an efficient way. Niceties are going away in favor of short form communication— “u got it? LOL”. Business shifts in spending are going toward labor or machines to answer these texts.
Using a service like VimChat, a user can text to a “text handle” (i.e. @SanMateoRotary), and keep your own personal cell phone number safe. New laws as of last 18-24 months state that as part of data recovery in a business, you must keep your phone for 7 years!!, part of the Data Discovery Act.
Thank you for a very interesting discussion.
